The Aroostook River Spring Runoff Canoe & Kayak Race kicked off Saturday morning, with 19 boats and 28 paddlers launching from the Lower Lyndon Street boat landing. Last year’s race, which revived Caribou’s river racing tradition, saw 21 boats with 34 paddlers.
