SAGLE, ID — Two people were killed and two others were hurt in a head-on crash on US95 near Sagle, Idaho, according to the Idaho State Police. The wreck happened about 1:25 p.m. on May 25, 2026, near milepost 469 in Bonner County.
How The Crash Unfolded
Investigators said an 18-year-old man from Sandpoint was driving south in a red 2011 Buick LaCrosse when the car crossed left of center. The Buick then hit a northbound white 2021 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup head-on.
The pickup was driven by a 65-year-old Sandpoint man. State police said all of the people in both vehicles were wearing seat belts.
Victims And Injuries
The driver of the Buick and his passenger, a 48-year-old man from Sandpoint, died at the scene. The two people in the Dodge Ram were taken to a local hospital, with one transported by ground ambulance and the other by air ambulance.
Road Closures And Response
US95 was blocked at times for about three hours while responders worked the crash scene. The Idaho State Police said next of kin had not yet been notified as of the report.
Investigation Continues
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. State police have not released any additional findings about what led the Buick to cross the center line.
